Bona Fide has developed icons which allow you to quickly identify each product's eco-attributes. Each unique icon includes our own definition as an educational component to your shopping experience. This increases your awareness about how to be a conscious consumer and how the products you buy impact the environment. You may also "shop by icon" as another method of locating products with a specific eco-attribute.

Biodegradable

Products with the icon "biodegradable" are typically broken down and/or consumed by other living organisms, mostly bacteria, into basic elements found in nature without toxic by-products. An example of a biodegradable standards from the EU includes: "a product, liquid, or chemical is considered biodegradable if 90% is broken down within six months." Biodegradable products may not necessarily be compostable.
